Definition

Das American National Standards Institute (ANSI) ist die nationale Normungsorganisation der Vereinigten Staaten, die freiwillige Standards für Produkte, Dienstleistungen und Verfahren koordiniert und veröffentlicht. ANSI vertritt die USA in internationalen Normungsorganisationen wie ISO und IEC. Die Organisation akkreditiert Normungsgremien und stellt sicher, dass US-Standards im Konsensverfahren entwickelt werden.
